Privacy policy
This policy explains how Reco Services handles customer and vehicle information. It covers enquiries, quotes, engine supply, fitting and after-sales support.
Who we are
Reconditioning Services Pty Ltd, trading as Reco Services, ABN 35 659 629 142.
- Address: Unit 1/28-30 Hampstead Rd, Auburn NSW 2144
- Phone: 02 9737 0105
- Email: info@recoservices.net.au
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Reco Services.
What information we collect
When you enquire, we collect the information you enter. Depending on your enquiry, this can include:
- your name, phone number and email address
- whether you are a vehicle owner or a workshop
- vehicle make, model, year, series, engine code, registration and VIN
- the engine or service you need, and whether you need fitting, delivery or a tow
- vehicle location, suburb, postcode, state and unloading arrangements
- your message and how you found us.
The form also sends its page and enquiry context so the recipient knows which engine or service you were viewing. Security checks process connection information, including your IP address, to help prevent automated abuse.
When you contact the business by phone or email, or proceed with a job, information may also include quote and invoice records, payment records, correspondence and vehicle or fault photos. Only send information relevant to your enquiry. Do not put card details or unrelated sensitive information in the website form.
Why we use it
We use the information relevant to your job to check engine compatibility, prepare a quote, discuss your options, arrange fitting or transport, take payment and handle after-sales enquiries or claims.
You can ask general questions without identifying yourself. If you do not provide the contact, vehicle or delivery details needed for a particular job, we may be unable to quote accurately, confirm fitment or arrange it.
If you are a workshop supplying your customer's details, make sure you have authority to share them with us.
Who receives information
Freight carriers and tow operators need relevant contact, collection and delivery details when we arrange those services. Website, email and business-system providers may process information to deliver their services. Information may also need to be provided where required by law.
This website uses:
- Vercel to host and run the website.
- Cloudflare Turnstile for the enquiry security check. The server sends the security token and, where available, the connection IP address for verification.
- Resend to send a valid enquiry by email to Reco at info@recoservices.net.au, and to send order receipts.
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd) to take payment if you buy an engine online. Stripe receives your name, email, phone, address and card details, and uses cookies and device information to prevent fraud. Its checkout loads only when you choose Buy now. We never see or store your card number. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Upstash to count repeated requests and to keep the record of cookie choices described below. For the counts it receives hashed IP and email identifiers, not the addresses themselves.
Website storage, cookies and analytics
We measure how people use this website so we can improve it. We use three services:
- Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, with data processed in the United States and other countries) shows us which pages are visited, how people arrive and whether an enquiry was sent. It sets cookies only if you choose Accept in our cookie banner; until then it measures visits without cookies. It does not receive what you type into the enquiry form. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation, with data processed in the United States) shows us where people click, tap and scroll, as heatmaps and session replays. It runs only if you choose Accept in our cookie banner. The enquiry form is hidden from it, so it does not record what you type. Microsoft collects this information as a separate business, not on our behalf, and may use it under the Microsoft Privacy Statement, including to improve its products and for advertising such as Microsoft Advertising.
When you make or change a cookie choice, we keep a record of it so we can show what you agreed to: the random ID held in the banner's cookie, your choice, the date and time, the banner version, the page you were on, your country and your browser type. The record does not include your name, email address or IP address.
We do not use advertising pixels. Hosting and security services, including the form's security check, process technical information such as your IP address when you visit or use the form.
Security and retention
The enquiry code validates fields, limits submission size and frequency, and uses an anti-bot check. It sends the enquiry as an email rather than saving it in an application customer database. That does not mean no records are kept: email and hosting providers can retain messages and technical records.
Marketing
An enquiry is about your requested engine or service. It does not give marketing consent unless you separately opt in.
The enquiry form includes an optional, unticked checkbox for email updates and offers from Reco Services. You can enquire without opting in. The enquiry email records your choice, the checkbox wording and version, the time received and the source page. We do not currently subscribe anyone to a marketing platform or send marketing emails.
If you opt in, you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting Reco. Marketing emails must include an unsubscribe option.
Access, corrections and privacy complaints
To ask about information held about you, request access or correction, or raise a privacy concern, contact Reco by email or phone above. Explain what you need. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information about you or your vehicle.
Contact the business first about a complaint. The OAIC generally expects you to allow the organisation 30 days to respond before bringing a complaint to it. The OAIC can only deal with complaints within its jurisdiction.
See the OAIC's privacy complaint guidance or call its enquiries line on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or practices change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
