Terms and conditions

In short: Quotes are valid for 30 days. A 50% deposit secures a fitting booking and the engine. Engine-only orders are paid in full before release. Fitting and freight are extra and quoted separately. Your applicable consumer rights are not excluded by these terms.

These terms cover engine supply, fitting and reconditioning by Reco Services. Read them with the quote for your job and the linked warranty and delivery information.

Who you are buying from

The seller is Reconditioning Services Pty Ltd, trading as Reco Services, ABN 35 659 629 142, at Unit 1/28-30 Hampstead Rd, Auburn NSW 2144.

Contact 02 9737 0105 or info@recoservices.net.au with questions about a quote or job.

Choosing an engine and getting a quote

We check the make, model, year, series and engine in your vehicle before quoting. Provide accurate vehicle details and tell us if the vehicle or engine has been modified. A registration or VIN can help confirm the right version.

The listing identifies the engine's condition and build. New, remanufactured and reconditioned are different descriptions. The listed engine assembly is not a promise that every external component is supplied. Check the inclusions for the particular engine with us before paying.

Quotes are valid for 30 days. The quote should identify the engine or work, inclusions and separately charged fitting, freight or other work. Ask us to explain anything unclear before proceeding.

Prices, fitting and freight

Fitting is not included in the price and is quoted separately. Fitting is available at our Sydney and Melbourne workshops.

Engine delivery is also an additional cost, quoted for the destination and unloading arrangements. Tell us whether delivery is to a workshop, home or depot, and whether a forklift or tail-lift is needed.

Any applicable GST and unavoidable charges are shown in your quote before you agree to it.

Deposits and payments

  • Fitting jobs: a 50% deposit secures the booking and allocates the engine to the vehicle.
  • Engine-only supply: payment in full is required before the engine is released for shipping.
  • Payment methods: bank transfer and card over the phone. Reco does not offer Afterpay.

See payment information. Do not send card details through the website enquiry form.

Fitting and timing

Your vehicle needs to reach the Sydney or Melbourne workshop for Reco fitting. We can discuss arranging a tow if it cannot be driven.

Booking and completion times depend on the job and workshop availability. Most jobs take one to three weeks; we confirm the estimate for your job. It is not a guaranteed deadline for every vehicle, rebuild or delivery.

Reconditioning your own engine

We strip, clean and inspect the engine to establish whether it can be reconditioned. If it is serviceable, we can provide a fixed rebuild quote. If it cannot be rebuilt, a teardown fee applies for the work already done.

This fee and the scope of the inspection need to be explained before the work is authorised.

Delivery, ownership and changeover

We supply engines Australia-wide. Delivery cost depends on where the engine is going and how it will be unloaded. See shipping and delivery.

Some existing listings describe supply on a changeover basis. Ask us what is needed for your old engine before you order, including its condition, the deadline, transport and any core charge.

Changing your mind or cancelling

Our change-of-mind policy allows an unopened engine to be returned with a restocking fee. Original freight and logistics charges are not refunded for a change of mind, and the buyer pays return freight. Once fitting has started, even partly, the change-of-mind return option ends.

Contact us before cancelling a fitting booking or arranging a return.

These change-of-mind conditions do not apply in place of legal remedies for faulty goods, incorrect supply or services that fail an applicable consumer guarantee. See returns and refunds.

Warranty and faults

Our warranty covers the parts we supply and our work, including fitting work when we do it.

See the warranty for the cover period and how to claim. If a problem arises, contact Reco with your quote or invoice details, what happened and any checks or photos available. Do not continue driving if it is unsafe or may cause further damage.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms, a quote or our warranty excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See returns and refunds for faulty goods and the warranty for cover and claims.

Mechanics, workshops and trade customers

Reco supplies engines to trade customers and offers a discount of about 5%, with the price confirmed for the particular engine. You can fit the engine yourself or discuss Reco fitting the vehicle. See trade supply.

Buying for a business does not automatically remove legal protections. Applicable rights depend on the purchase and the law.

Questions, concerns and personal information

Contact Reco using the details above and provide the quote or invoice reference and the issue you want resolved.

Our privacy policy explains the information used for enquiries and jobs. Neither that policy nor these terms is a marketing opt-in.
